USA and West Indies representative Jermaine Lawson was born on this day in 1982, with some suggesting he was the last of the really quick West Indies bowlers. Lawson represented the West Indies in only 13 test matches, which included a hat-trick and 7 for 78 against the powerful Australians.

Unfortunately, injury and problems with his action curtailed his promising career, but he later represented USA at the ICC World Cricket League Division 3 in Kuala Lumper in 2014 and still plies his trade to this day in cricket leagues around the tristate region with great success, where he continues to bowl with his notorious pace.
