USA Women’s National Team have arrived in Scotland for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier where they will attempt to become the first American side ever to qualify for a T20 World Cup where there are eight countries playing off for two places in Australia 2020.

The Team USA squad features a great mix of youth and experience with two teenagers as well as many veterans who have represented the United States for the last several years including at the Europe/Americas Qualifier in Scotland in 2017.

The squad has been preparing for the tournament over recent days with a tour of the UK that featured matches against MCC and Essex Women. The squad was also fortunate to attend a Kia Super League Match after a visit to Lord’s Cricket Ground, and spend some time receiving tips from Heather Knight, current England Women’s Captain.

“On behalf of USA Cricket including our Board and staff and the U.S. cricket community, I’d like to wish the U.S. Women’s National Team much success during the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier in Scotland,” said USA Cricket CEO Iain Higgins. “The squad is well prepared, we are proud of the team’s efforts thus far and look forward to celebrating more success in Scotland under the leadership of Head Coach Julia Price.”

After defeating Canada 3 – 0 in the Americas Regional Final in May 2019, Team USA women play Scotland on August 31st, Bangladesh on September 1st and Papua New Guinea on September 3rd in Group A, with the Scotland vs USA game being live-streamed as part of 10 matches that are being live-streamed by the ICC for the first time in the tournament’s history. The live-stream will be hosted on the official ICC YouTube Channel, with links available via the USA Cricket Match Center as well.

In addition, short-form video highlights will be posted on the ICC Social Channels with links from the USA Cricket website and the USA Cricket social platforms at @USACricket will have updates throughout the tournament. The three USA group matches all start at 2pm local time/9am EST and there is a warm-up game today against Thailand, also starting at 2pm local time/9am EST.
